New Quilt Patterns available

THE ENGLISH BASKET QUILT c. 1800 by Corliss Searcey: 72” x 82”

This is Corliss Searcey’s interpretation of the English Medallion Quilt from the early 1800s. These naive baskets are surrounded by borders of hexagon flowers, stars, hearts and more. You can have great fun with this ’busy’ quilt and it’s easy shapes that do not need precise placement to achieve a fabulous look. At this time this quilt is a ‘work in progress’ ~ photos of the complete available soon!. The pattern with full size designs is $40.00.

THE ARDEN QUILT by Megan Carroll: 64" x 64"

Another original quilt design by Megan Carroll. Four appliqué blocks make up this large centre that is surrounded by an assortment of gorgeous blocks that have been pieced and appliquéd. This very special quilt is finished with a stunning clamshell border. The pattern with full size designs is $35.00.

CONFETTI by Irene Blanck: 54” x 64”

Here is Irene’s Blanck’s latest original design. The quilt centre is hexagon flowers topped off with an elegant basket of more hexagon flowers. This unique border features a chain of hexagons that offer just the right touch to finish this quilt. The pattern with full size designs is $25.00.

FLORAL BEAUTY: 52" x 46"

This very special quilt is perfect for stitching whilst on the go. All of these gorgeous 6" blocks are hand appliqued, layer upon layer. The variety of star and flower blocks are surrounded by a pieced dog-tooth border. An assortment of light, medium and dark, floral, checks and stripes make it a stunning quilt. ELIZA'S IRISH MEDALLION by Megan Carroll: 84” x 84”

This original quilt design by Megan Carroll was inspired by a wonderful counterpane by Mrs. Eliza Bennis thought to have been brought with her on her journey from Ireland to her new home in America in the 1780s. Megan’s quilt is a lovely mix of piecing and appliqué borders around the broderie perse centrepiece of a tree with peacocks. The pattern with full size appliqué & border designs is $35.00.

Ruth Bowman has researched then faithfully reproduced this crib quilt by Florence Peto. A pleasure to stitch, this quilt has interesting piecing and lovely appliqué blocks & borders. The striking cheddar setting blocks complete this beautiful quilt. The pattern with full size designs is $30.00.

ANN'S LEGACY - A Tribute to Ann Daggs by Di Ford: 67" x 67"

This long anticipated quilt by Di Ford was well worth the wait. Di's faithful reproduction of the original c.1818 is, indeed, beautiful. The full size pattern sheets for the central applique and borders take all the hard work out of making your version of this beautiful quilt. Complete pattern is $55.00.

19th CENTURY BASKETS QUILT: 90" X 90"

Another fabulous quilt by Di Ford. This quilt consists of four 30” finished blocks surrounded by two dogtooth borders and a 10” appliqué border. A long time favourite by those fans of Primarily Patchwork. Complete pattern is $30.00.

HOMAGE TO SALLIE ANN: 84" X 92"

Di Ford was inspired to reproduce this stunning quilt design originally made by Sallie Ann Nelson, circa 1850, because of it’s beauty. Sallie Ann was truly a master with the needle and an inspiration to all who love appliqué. A Fabric Starter Pack of 70 x Fat 1/16s for $113.75. This covers a good portion of the applique and gives the 'flavour' of this quilt.

PHEBE: 86" X 86"

This stunning quilt by Di Ford was inspired initially, by a cross stitch pattern. After some research, Di discovered that this cross stitch was most definitely inspired by a quilt by Phebe Warner, hence the name. This detailed appliqued centre is surrounded by sixteen different frames. The result is absolutely beautiful and further enhanced by Di's extensive use of fussy cutting in both her applique shapes and the small scale piecing with the use of many, many fabrics.

THE MORRELL QUILT: 86" X 86"

This beautiful quilt was reproduced by Di Ford, of Primarily Patchwork fame, from an original by Sarah Morrell in the 1840s. It measures 86" x 86" with the sixty blocks, stitched by hand or machine, are Broiderie Perse, appliqué and pieced. This pattern comes with full sized block patterns, diagram and instructions with an A4 colour photo of the quilt. The pattern is $55.00.

A TRIBUTE TO MRS WILLIAMS: 82½” x 82½”

This is a faithful reproduction of a quilt from the mid 1800s. It is interesting to make as a range of techniques including hand appliqué, hand and machine piecing are used in the variety of these 7½” blocks. One of the best parts of making this quilt was selecting the fabrics for it. Over 150 different reproduction prints were used in the quilt top. The original quilt can be seen in the book ‘The American Quilt’ by Roderick Kiracof. The pattern is $35.00.

SPRING PROMISE : 75” x 75”

This lovely quilt if an original by Irene Blanck. These large appliqué blocks are graceful, interesting yet not difficult. The unique cable border compliments the blocks and the quilt is nicely finished with the scalloped border. The pattern is $25.00.

Bartlet: 54½" x 54½"

Bartlet is another beautiful quilt by Megan Carroll. Perfect for hand or machine piecing, these Lafayette Star blocks use pretty reproduction floral fabrics for the backgrounds. By choosing a subtle sashing and 2" bow-tie cornestones, the star blocks with their gorgeous colours and fabrics remain the focus of this antique style quilt. Finished size: 54½”square. POMEGRANTE & STAR MEDALLION QUILT: 66" X 66"

One of the first medallion quilts designed by Corliss and still a favourite, this one combines easy applique and machine piecing for a stunning overall effect. PIECES OF THE PAST: 73" X 85"

Pieces of the Past was inspired by a quilt top from the late 1800s. It was love at first sight as this treasure was revealed - the applique was not in the original but added for interest. Pattern available: $16.50

MORNING PATCH: 66" X 66"

Inspiration for this came from a quilt made in the 1800s by Keziah Pope. A great quilt to use lots of your gorgeous scraps and easily hand or machine pieced. Pattern available: $16.50

MID 19th CENTURY STAR QUILT: 84" X 84"

This is an original design by Margaret Mew based on the traditional medallion style quilts of the 1800s. Margaret has given it a very olde world look with her unique fabric combinations. WHIRLING TWIRLING: 80" X 80"

Another quilt inspired by patterns from years gone by, this one by Margaret McDonald. These nine gorgeous spiral blocks may be hand or machine pieced. Margaret has produced an excellent pattern with detailed diagrams, colour photos and comprehensive instructions. The quilt measures 80" x 80" approximately and the pattern is $25.00.

RUBY’S FANCY: 72" X 72"

This quilt is full of joy! Ruth Bowman has designed and made Ruby’s Fancy with her favourite fabrics - the 1930s reproduction prints. An easy quilt to make, this one looks more complex with its interlocking blocks. The finished quilt is 72" square and the pattern is $16.50 with a starter pack for $66.00.

NELLIE MAE’S MEDALLION: 69" X 69"

Both of my grandmother’s taught me simple embroidery which eventually lead to my love of patchwork. This quilt was named for Nellie Mae Henry, my maternal grandmother who was a more basic stitcher than my paternal grandmother. Just basic patchwork skills are required to complete this appealing medallion quilt.

EXUBERANCE : Princess Feather 77” x 77”

This quilt was totally machined pieced and appliquéd by Margaret McDonald. The pattern provides instructions for fusible products, however, the quilt could just as easily be made using your favourite hand methods. The feathers are created using 32 different reproduction red fabrics. The pattern is $20.00.

LATTICE ~ Carpenter’s Square : 75” x 75”

Do you like puzzles? If so, this is a quilt for you. This pattern by Margaret McDonald offers a variety of effects. Despite its appearance it goes together very easily using the master plan to create a very graphically inspiring design.
